In the beginning, the quality of the litchis of Taiwan
origin was poor. Most of the juicy litchis we taste today are of the premium quality
imported to Taiwan from the Taiping Lins in Ching Dynasty. They were planted in the inner
city of Toubiankeng, Taiping. Later they were spread out via a technique that uses the
connection of branches. At present, the inner city still boasts the oldest litchi tree in
Taiwan, dabbed the mother of Taiwan litchi trees! ¡´ Longans Yielding season: June~August Longan trees are commonplace in hilly terrain. Of course the professional cultivation of longan is just as important in Taiping. Apart from longan's juicy fruits, dried longan is an important ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine, and longan honey is the byword for high quality honey. |
